Exploring the Bible together
Exploring the Bible together
The three Gospels Matthew, Mark and Luke are called the Synoptics, meaning “seen together”. In this Bible study, the Gospel According to Mark is considered alongside Matthew and Luke (and occasionally John’s Gospel), allowing us to see how these ‘witness statements’ tell the story of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Each study is designed to last for 60-90 minutes and includes Bible readings, ice-breaker questions that set the scene, and discussion points where we consider the application to our own lives. Bonus materials are available in the accompanying app, which also allows participants to join the group remotely. For those groups wishing to undertake a detailed journey through Mark’s Gospel, there is sufficient material for more than one year’s worth of weekly meetings. However, the leader can select a subset based on a particular theme (for example for a Lent or Advent period) using the Search facility. These studies reference the work of respected Christian scholars and are intended for use by Christians of every denomination.
